अथाददे सूर्यमरीचिकल्पं सब्रह्मदण्डान्तककालकल्पम्। अरिष्टमैन्द्र निशितं सुपुङ्खं रामः शरं मारुततुल्यवेगम्॥ तं वज्रजाम्बूनदचारुपुङ्ख प्रदीप्तसूर्यज्वलनप्रकाशम्। महेन्द्रवज्राशनितुल्यवेगं रामः प्रचिक्षेप निशाचराय।।

athādade sūryamarīcikalpaṃ sabrahmadaṇḍāntakakālakalpam| ariṣṭamaindra niśitaṃ supuṅkhaṃ rāmaḥ śaraṃ mārutatulyavegam|| taṃ vajrajāmbūnadacārupuṅkha pradīptasūryajvalanaprakāśam| mahendravajrāśanitulyavegaṃ rāmaḥ pracikṣepa niśācarāya||

English Meaning

Then Rāma took an arrow of Indra, whetted and knobbed, impetuous as the wind, resembling the effulgence of the Sun, and like to the very banner of Brahmā, or the destroyer himself; and fatal to foes. And then Rāma hurled it at the ranger of the night.
