nirāśā nihate putre dattvā śrāddhamacetanā| agnimāvekṣyate nūnamapo vāpi pravekṣyati||
English Meaning
That one bereft of her consciousness, filled with despair, after having performed his srāddha,* will doubtless enter into fire or water. *Funereal rites performed in accordance with the injunctions of the Hindu Scriptures.
