अपवादः स किल ते पुनरेष्यति राघव॥ यदर्थं मैथिली त्यक्ता अपवादभयानृप। सोऽपवादः पुरे राजन्भविष्यति न संशयः॥
apavādaḥ sa kila te punareṣyati rāghava|| yadarthaṃ maithilī tyaktā apavādabhayānṛpa| so'pavādaḥ pure rājanbhaviṣyati na saṃśayaḥ||
English Meaning
O Rāghava, you shall again be blamed by the people. In fear of this calumny, O king, that you have renounced Maithili. And if do you grieve for that spouse your calumny shall undoubtedly be deep-routed in the kingdom.
