गौरी कनकवर्णाभामिष्टामन्तःपुरेश्वरीम्। कपिर्मन्दोदरीं तत्र शयानां चारुरूपिणीम्॥ स तां दृष्ट्वा महाबाहुर्भूषितां मारुतात्मजः। तर्कयामास सीतेति रूपयौवनसम्पदा। हर्षेण महता युक्तो ननन्द हरियूथपः॥
gaurī kanakavarṇābhāmiṣṭāmantaḥpureśvarīm| kapirmandodarīṃ tatra śayānāṃ cārurūpiṇīm|| sa tāṃ dṛṣṭvā mahābāhurbhūṣitāṃ mārutātmajaḥ| tarkayāmāsa sīteti rūpayauvanasampadā| harṣeṇa mahatā yukto nananda hariyūthapaḥ||
English Meaning
The monkey saw there the yellow-hued Mandodarī, having the splendour of gold; the object of (Rāvana's) desire; beautiful exceedingly, the mistress of the inner apartment, lying down. And seeing (Mandodarī) adorned with ornaments, the offspring of the Wind-god guessed. This one endowed with the wealth of youth and beauty mighty be Sītā. And demonstrating great joy, that leader of monkeybands rejoiced exceedingly.
