निगृह्य तरसा मृत्युं लोकानां हितकाम्यया। दक्षिणा दिक् कृता येन शरण्या पुण्यकर्मणा ॥ तस्येदमाश्रमपदं प्रभावाद् यस्य राक्षसैः। दिगियं दक्षिणा त्रासाद् दृश्यते नोपभुज्यते॥
nigṛhya tarasā mṛtyuṃ lokānāṃ hitakāmyayā| dakṣiṇā dik kṛtā yena śaraṇyā puṇyakarmaṇā || tasyedamāśramapadaṃ prabhāvād yasya rākṣasaiḥ| digiyaṃ dakṣiṇā trāsād dṛśyate nopabhujyate||
English Meaning
This is the asylum of that pious one, who destroying (the Asura resembling) Death, has, desirous of the welfare of mankind, rendered the Southern quarter habitable, and through whose potency the Rākşasas from fear barely cast their eyes in this direction, but do not approach.
