About the temple
An immense temple-town dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, a reclining form of Vishnu, on an island in the Kaveri. It spreads across seven concentric walled enclosures with many towering gopurams.

The foremost of the 108 Divya Desams and one of the largest functioning Hindu temple complexes in the world.
