About the temple
A temple to the Goddess Kamakhya atop the Nilachal hill overlooking the Brahmaputra. Its distinctive beehive-shaped dome crowns a shrine centred on a natural spring rather than an image.

One of the most powerful Shakti Pithas and a major centre of Tantric worship, host to the annual Ambubachi Mela.
