About the temple
A stone temple to Lord Shiva set at nearly 3,600 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas, near the source of the Mandakini river. It is open only for part of the year due to snow.
Significance
One of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a Char Dham site of the Himalayas, among the most arduous and revered of Shiva pilgrimages.
