1अयि गिरिनन्दिनि नन्दितमेदिनि विश्वविनोदिनि नन्दिनुते गिरिवरविन्ध्यशिरोऽधिनिवासिनि विष्णुविलासिनि जिष्णुनुते । भगवति हे शितिकण्ठकुटुम्बिनि भूरिकुटुम्बिनि भूरिकृते जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥१॥

O daughter of the mountain who gladdens the earth, delight of the universe, praised by Nandi; who dwells on the peak of the great Vindhya, sister of Vishnu, praised by the victorious; O Goddess, consort of the blue-throated Shiva, of vast family and boundless deeds — victory, victory to you, slayer of the buffalo-demon, of lovely braided locks, daughter of the mountain!
2सुरवरवर्षिणि दुर्धरधर्षिणि दुर्मुखमर्षिणि हर्षरते त्रिभुवनपोषिणि शङ्करतोषिणि किल्बिषमोषिणि घोषरते । दनुजनिरोषिणि दितिसुतरोषिणि दुर्मदशोषिणि सिन्धुसुते जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥२॥

Showering blessings on the gods, assailing the unassailable foe, crushing the wicked, delighting in joy; nourisher of the three worlds, pleasing to Shiva, remover of sins, delighting in sacred sound; wrathful against the demons, drier-up of arrogance, daughter of the ocean — victory, victory to you, slayer of the buffalo-demon, of lovely locks, daughter of the mountain!
3अयि जगदम्ब मदम्ब कदम्ब वनप्रियवासिनि हासरते शिखरि शिरोमणि तुङ्गहिमालय शृङ्गनिजालय मध्यगते । मधुमधुरे मधुकैटभगञ्जिनि कैटभभञ्जिनि रासरते जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥३॥

O Mother of the world, my Mother, who loves to dwell in the kadamba groves and delights in laughter; crest-jewel of mountains, who abides among the lofty Himalayan peaks; sweet as honey, vanquisher of Madhu and Kaitabha, delighting in the dance — victory, victory to you, slayer of the buffalo-demon, of lovely locks, daughter of the mountain!
4अयि शतखण्ड विखण्डितरुण्ड वितुण्डितशुण्ड गजाधिपते रिपुगजगण्ड विदारणचण्ड पराक्रमशुण्ड मृगाधिपते । निजभुजदण्ड निपातितखण्ड विपातितमुण्ड भटाधिपते जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥४॥
Ayi Śata-Khaṇḍa Vikhaṇḍita-Ruṇḍa Vituṇḍita-Śuṇḍa Gajādhipate Ripu-Gaja-Gaṇḍa Vidāraṇa-Caṇḍa Parākrama-Śuṇḍa Mṛgādhipate | Nija-Bhuja-Daṇḍa Nipātita-Khaṇḍa Vipātita-Muṇḍa Bhaṭādhipate Jaya Jaya He Mahiṣāsura-Mardini Ramya-Kapardini Śaila-Sute ||4||
O Goddess who hews the enemy into a hundred pieces and severs the trunks of their war-elephants; who rides the lion, fierce in valour, rending the temples of the foe’s elephants; who with her own mighty arms strikes down and beheads the demon-chiefs — victory, victory to you, slayer of the buffalo-demon, of lovely locks, daughter of the mountain!
5अयि रणदुर्मद शत्रुवधोदित दुर्धरनिर्जर शक्तिभृते चतुरविचार धुरीणमहाशिव दूतकृत प्रमथाधिपते । दुरितदुरीह दुराशयदुर्मति दानवदूत कृतान्तमते जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥५॥

O bearer of irresistible, undying power, risen to slay the foes maddened in battle; who made the wise and supreme Shiva your messenger, O leader of the hosts; who resolves like Death itself against the evil-minded messengers of the demons — victory, victory to you, slayer of the buffalo-demon, of lovely locks, daughter of the mountain!
