तद् दृष्ट्वा व्यादितं त्वास्यं वायुपुत्रः स बुद्धिमान्। दीर्घजिढे सुरसया सुभीमं नरकोपमम्॥ स संक्षिप्यात्मनः कायं जीमूत इव मारुतिः। तस्मिन् मुहूर्ते हनुमान् बभूवाङ्गुष्ठमात्रकः॥ सोऽभिपद्याथ तद्वक्त्रं निष्पत्य च महाबलः। अन्तरिक्षे स्थितः श्रीमानिदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
tad dṛṣṭvā vyāditaṃ tvāsyaṃ vāyuputraḥ sa buddhimān| dīrghajiḍhe surasayā subhīmaṃ narakopamam|| sa saṃkṣipyātmanaḥ kāyaṃ jīmūta iva mārutiḥ| tasmin muhūrte hanumān babhūvāṅguṣṭhamātrakaḥ|| so'bhipadyātha tadvaktraṃ niṣpatya ca mahābalaḥ| antarikṣe sthitaḥ śrīmānidaṃ vacanamabravīt||
English Meaning
Seeing that mouth with its long tongue opened by Surasā which was extremely terrible and was a replica of hell. Thereat diminishing his body like to a cloud, the wind-god's son at that moment measured one thumb only. Then entering her mouth and coming out of it, that exceedingly powerful powerful and graceful one, stationing himself in the sky spoke thus.
