pīḍayā pīḍitaṃ sarvaṃ jagadasya jagatpateḥ| mūlasyevopaghātena vṛkṣaḥ puṣpaphalopagaḥ||
English Meaning
The entire earth is distressed on account of the distress of this lord of the earth, even like a tree bearing blossoms and fruits, when its roots have been severed.
